Issues we work with

Trauma

Trauma is an emotional or physical response to one or more physically/psychologically  harmful, or life threatening events or circumstances, with lasting adverse effects on your mental and physical well-being.

Trauma can be an event you've personally experienced, or witnessed.

Trauma can be a cumulative experience, or a one-off event that has left a lasting impact on your daily life.

Depression

Depression is often associated with the following symptoms:

  • Depressed mood

  • Diminished interest or pleasure in most or all activities

  • Insomnia or hypersomnia

  • Fatigue or loss of energy

  • Diminished ability to think or concentrate

  • Recurrent thoughts of death or suicidal ideation, plan, or attempt

  • Feelings of Hopelessness

Men

There is still quite a lot of stigma associated with seeking help.

No matter how much you may try to motor through, push aside, or ignore your feelings, your feelings and experiences are important, and deserve to be listened by an empathetic, attuned, other.

Prenatal/Postpartum

Pregnancy, and the period after childbirth are a time of incredible vulnerability and transition for the gestating parent.

It is not uncommon for feelings of depression, anxiety, hopelessness, and memories of past childhood experiences and trauma to surface during this time.

Life Transitions

Moving, changing careers, divorce, new relationships, new chapters, etc. for many change is a precarious and difficult time to navigate.

The holding, stabilizing presence of therapy can help you through a time of change so that you maintain a sense of continuity and stability.

Grief

Grief is a normal experience that can be incredibly painful and isolating to move through.

Sometimes in grief we loose our support systems and find ourselves unable to process the loss we have experienced.

Sometimes grief stays with us long after the loss has occurred and dramatically impacts our ability to engage in the world around us.
